Inspiration: Alexa Chung

If you have been reading my blog since the beginning of its birth then you know that I really love Alexa Chung's style, her clothes, her hair, her beauty tips, I mean she has a book called IT, because everyone wants to be like her. The video below is a tutorial from Lisa Eldridge, featuring Alexa Chung, on how to achieve her famous cat-eye look. I don't know how many times I've tried this, but I will master this one day!

Inspiration: Hair Styles

It's deep into summer and oh is it hot. My hair is at the medium length now and I'm thinking of cutting it again because it is hot. A lot too hot this year than most years...is it because of El Niño? I need to look into it. Anyway, here are a couple of hair trends for this season. Long, medium, short, these styles will make your hair look great and you'll feel great too! For more style ideas, check out the slideshow at Refinery 29.

Books: Summer Reading List

Here is Round 3 of my "Summer Reading List." I Really hope these recommendations are at good use, because if I won a million dollars I would certainly buy myself my very own library. Anyway, take a look below. They are two completely different books, but I love their genres either way.

Four A Divergent Collection by Veronica Roth
Two years before Beatrice Prior made her choice, the sixteen-year-old son of Abnegation's faction leader did the same. Tobias's transfer to Dauntless is a chance to begin again. Here, he will not be called the name his parents gave him. Here, he will not let fear turn him into a cowering child.
Newly christened "Four," he discovers during initiation that he will succeed in Dauntless. Initiation is only the beginning, though; Four must claim his place in the Dauntless hierarchy. His decisions will affect future initiates as well as uncover secrets that could threaten his own future—and the future of the entire faction system.
Two years later, Four is poised to take action, but the course is still unclear. The first new initiate who jumps into the net might change all that. With her, the way to righting their world might become clear. With her, it might become possible to be Tobias once again.

Playlist

Since I was inspired the other day, with the urge to travel, I thought, "What would I listen to?" So I came up with a playlist thanks to Spotify. I love the randomness of the songs, and I love the artists below so I hope will you too.

Books: Summer Reading List

Here is the second round of my Summer Reading List. Take a look below and see if it tickles your fancy. Enjoy!

If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Soon to be a major motion picture, starring Chloe Moretz!

In the blink of an eye everything changes. Seventeen year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall what happened afterwards, watching her own damaged body being taken from the wreck. Little by little she struggles to put together the pieces- to figure out what she has lost, what she has left, and the very difficult choice she must make. Heartwrenchingly beautiful, this will change the way you look at life, love, and family. Now a major motion picture starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia's story will stay with you for a long, long time.

Books: Summer Reading List

Every week I will post books I plan to read during the summer, although it may prolong into fall, but books I want to read nonetheless. I am always open to recommendations, so comment below.

The Vacationers by Emma Straub
For the Posts, a two-week trip to the Balearic island of Mallorca with their extended family and friends is a celebration: Franny and Jim are observing their thirty-fifth wedding anniversary, and their daughter, Sylvia, has graduated from high school. The sunlit island, its mountains and beaches, its tapas and tennis courts, also promise an escape from the tensions simmering at home in Manhattan. But all does not go according to plan: over the course of the vacation, secrets come to light, old and new humiliations are experienced, childhood rivalries resurface, and ancient wounds are exacerbated.

Music: Tegan and Sara

I have followed Tegan and Sara's music since high school many x years ago. Today I woke up wanting to listen to their music, so that's what I am doing while I prepare today's post and work later on. Put the volume up and enjoy the wonderful music from my favorite twins!

Tuesday

Sorry I have not been around lately. I tried to queue posts for the week, but honestly guys, I've been busy with school and papers, and I got sick last week, so everything was no bueno. I will however, post sporadically. At least I can do that right?

Anyway, school has been good so far. I have to come up with a story for a short screenplay, so my brain is on overload. Then I have to do a project for my Film business class, wondering what topic I'll pick. Overall, it's a no brainer. I hope.

I hope your 4th of July was great. I spent it with friends, BBQ and fireworks. Very Independence Day. I'm guessing it's going to be relatively quiet until September. Things always get rowdy in September, and it's not just because of my birthday. Ha.

Like I said, I've been sick, and on my downtime I've been watching Grey's Anatomy. I stopped watching it after season 2 because high school was a lot to handle back then, but thanks to Netflix, my study book and soup, Grey's Anatomy has been my best friend. I miss the original characters, George and Izzie, and Lexie and Mark will forever have my heart. Medical dramas are my thing. I'm on season 9 now and what a rollercoaster!

Alright loves, I hope you are doing well. Talk to you soon.
