TV: Parks and Recreation

Tonight's episode of Parks and Recreation marks the last episode for Ann and Chris. What will the show be like without Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe? More like, what will Leslie be like without her beloved tropical fish Ann? Ann has been Leslie's rock since day one of Parks and Rec, but now Leslie has Ben, however no matter what happens in life, a girl will always need her best friend. With their departure, there will be more Leslie x April x Donna interactions (that's for sure), and I believe that they will all grieve for Ann and Chris leaving Pawnee in their own way. I know fans will be sad for a long time, but I wonder if it tops Michael Scott leaving The Office.

I guess we'll find out in tonight's episode of  Parks and Recreation. Get those tissues ready, I'm going to buy a pack to ready myself for tonight.

Movie: The Fault in Our Stars

The official trailer for John Green's YA best-selling novel movie adaptation The Fault in Our Stars is finally here. It's a real tear-jerker and that's just the trailer. Can you imagine the movie itself? If you haven't read the book then I highly suggest you do. You'll see what I'm talking about! For more on TFIOS (what the kids are calling it these days), read up on my articles over at the Examiner.

Inspiration: Short Hair Do's

I cut my hair short Friday, I know, but it was much needed. Anywho, it's pretty short and I'm looking at hair inspiration once again. Below are a couple of hair DIYs and inspiration I would like to accomplish with my new...bob? I must say, I feel quite French with this new style. Very Anna Karina.

Music: Chad Valley

Good Afternoon love birds! I hope you're having a good start to your Saturday. Here's a little music for your ears. The song is called Shell Suite by Chad Valley. If you're wondering where you heard this song from, well it's from Warm Bodies. I think the movie had a good soundtrack, but that's just me. If you like the sounds of Chad, then I suggest you listen to the full album Equatorial Ultravox.

Movie: Maleficent

I can't get over Angelina Jolie as Maleficent. I mean look at her. This is a role fit for her, not because I think she's mean or anything, but because she's a cameleon and can play any part she wishes. It also helps that she resembles the wicked horned sorceress a lot. A LOT. I know I touched the subject before and posted the trailer, but I can't get over it. I can't wait to see this movie. Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite classic Disney movies, not that many people like it, but I do. There's a simplicity and haunting tale to it, and that is primarily because of the wickedness that is Maleficent.

Playlist

Happy Monday everyone. I know Monday is most likely everyone's least favorite day...or that could be Tuesday, however let's get out of those Monday blues and get in the groove with this playlist I made. It's easy listening and quite catchy to sing-along. Enjoy!

Music: The Perks of Being a Wallflower Playlist

I've been feeling a little nostalgic lately, and when I do I end up watching my comfort movies instead of getting things done around here. The weather has been quite chilly, so I'm all bundled up and cozy, of course nothing will be done today. It's okay to take a day to yourself, I sure deserve it. I found this while browsing through Tumblr, and I think it's a perfect mix for a perfect lazy day, of  course, I can't forget about my tea.

Music: Haim

It's been quite a while since I posted a music video and so it begins again! I am really like Haim right now. They're a band consisting of sisters Este, Danielle and Alana, and you need to listen to them! I first heard of them through the UM radio down here in Miami, and every time they play one of their songs I put the volume way up because they're that good. Go ahead, take a listen.

TV: Girls

Girls is one of a couple of shows I started binge watching last summer. There was so much buzz surrounding the show that I gave a shot, and was immediately hooked. For some, it's not their favorite cup of tea, but for others it's just right. What I find interesting about the show is the GIRLS dynamic. These are characters that are completely flawed...and COMPLETELY unaware of it. And I like that in a show, that the characters are dysfunctional and not have their lives put together. There's no sugarcoating it. These are characters you love to hate, to love, then hate, then to love again (or hate).

Musication: Arctic Monkeys

I have expressed my love for Arctic Monkeys here before, and I stumbled upon this interesting read from Rookie Magazine (click to read). If you have yet to be hooked on Alex Turner's sweet, sweet devilish soul, then I hope this read helps you out!
